Charges Filed in Southeast Visalia Homicide

District Attorney Tim Ward has announced criminal charges against Visalia man Miguel Camacho, age 28, for the murder of a 75-year-old woman in southeast Visalia.

On February 4, 2026, it is alleged that Camacho drove his car through the gates of an apartment complex. Camacho then proceeded to bang on doors while attempting to gain entry to several units. When the victim opened her door, Camacho attacked her and stabbed her repeatedly. The victim died a short time later. Camacho was taken into custody soon after in the apartment complex. Camacho was unknown to the victim.

Camacho is charged with one count of murder with special allegations that he used a deadly weapon, was armed with a deadly weapon, that the victim was vulnerable, and that his conduct was violent. Camacho is also charged with making felony criminal threats and felony vandalism with special allegations that he used a deadly weapon, that he was armed with a deadly weapon, and that his conduct was violent.

An arraignment is scheduled for this afternoon in Superior Court where a future hearing date will be set. If convicted of all charges, Camacho faces life in prison.
