Violent Predator Again Denied Parole

Violent Predator Again Denied Parole

TCDA prosecutors successfully argued against the release of Jesus Molina, age 52, at a parole suitability hearing on August 4, 2026. Parole commissioners issued a 3-year denial. Molina is currently serving a life sentence for kidnapping and sexual assault at Avenal State Prison.

On September 20, 1998, in the Cutler area, Molina arrived at gathering on his bicycle. There, a family with children also arrived. Though they shared a mutual friend, Molina was unknown to them. After giving a ride to one of the children on his bicycle, Molina offered to give a ride to the victim, a 10-year-old girl, who refused. Despite the refusal, Molina picked her up and put her on the handlebars of the bicycle and rode to a nearby park as it was getting dark. At the park, Molina violently assaulted the victim. Molina told the victim he would kill her if she was not quiet. Eventually, the victim was able to flee and get help.

Over the next few days, officers and those close to Molina attempted to locate him. During this time, Molina phoned a relative and stated he was going to Mexico City. In February 2000, police received an anonymous tip that Molina was at an address in Cutler. Officers contacted Molina, who provided a false name and documents. Using evidence obtained from the 1998 crime, officers positively identified Molina and took him into custody.

At trial in March 2000, a Tulare County jury found Molina guilty of numerous violent felonies including lewd act with a child, kidnapping, and sexual assault with force and violence. He was sentenced to 33 years to life in prison.

This was Molina’s second parole hearing after being previously denied for release in 2023. In each hearing, commissioners found that he posed a significant risk if released.
