Today in Department 5 of the Tulare County Superior Court, Visalia Division, Judge Juliet Boccone sentenced Steven Wing, age 66, to 400 years-to-life in prison for child molestation.

On August 16, 2019, a jury found Wing guilty of four counts of sexual penetration of a child ten years old or younger and eight counts of lewd act upon a child under the age of fourteen. The jury also found true the special allegation of substantial sexual conduct and that Wing was a habitual sexual offender. The jury also found true that Wing has a prior conviction for lewd act upon a child under the age of fourteen from November 1985. Each count is a felony and all are considered strike offenses.

The crimes occurred between February 1, 2015, and July 21, 2017, against a female victim who was between the ages of four and six years old at the time of the sexual assaults. All twelve crimes occurred in various areas within Tulare County.

Wing will also be required to continue to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Chelsea Wayt of the Crimes against Children Division and was investigated by Agent Mona Whaley of the Visalia Police Department.
