Visalia Man Denied Parole for 1994 Murder

Yesterday at Ironwood State Prison in Blythe, a California parole board denied parole for Angelo Morales, age 43, for murder. Morales received a three year denial and is not eligible for another hearing until 2021.

On July 2, 1994, in Visalia, Morales stole an Oldsmobile sedan belonging to the victim, who was the ex-boyfriend of Morales’ girlfriend. As he was driving away, the victim saw him and jumped in the passenger side. The two began fighting in the car, exited through the driver side, and continued fighting in a neighbor’s yard. During the fight, Moralesstabbed the victim in the chest, head, shoulder, and back. One of the stab wounds fatallylacerated the victim’s heart. The victim also had numerous defensive stab wounds on hislower arms.

In April of 1995, Morales was convicted of murder, carjacking, and robbery. He was sentenced to 26-years-to-life in prison.

This was Morales’ second hearing. The District Attorney’s Office routinely attends life parole hearings and a Supervising Deputy District Attorney argued against the inmate’srelease in this case.
