Visalia Man Convicted of Lewd Act Near Middle School

Today in Department 12 of the Tulare County Superior Court, Visalia Division, Judge Nathan Ide presiding, a Tulare County jury found Adrian Souza, age 50, of Visalia, guilty of one misdemeanor count of indecent exposure.

In the mid-afternoon of March 7, 2018, at a local Visalia middle school, a parent waiting for an after school baseball practice noticed Souza walking in the parking lot around the school. Souza left the parking lot and crossed the street to a nearby house. Souza, with a jacket draped over his arm, turned and exposed himself in the direction of the parent. At the time of the incident, children were leaving the school for the end of the day. Police were called and Souza was taken in to custody.

Sentencing is scheduled for Monday, July 16, 2018, in Superior Court where Souza faces up to 180 days in jail and lifetime sex offender registration.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Peter De Young of the Visalia Division and investigated by the Visalia Police Department.
