Visalia Man Charged, Arraigned for Crimes Against Minor
Today in Department 3 of the Tulare County Superior Court, Visalia Division, Jason Haley, 40, was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to criminal charges related to the sexual abuse of a single female victim. The crimes are alleged to have occurred between 2008 and 2010 during Haley’s employment as a local high school band coach.
Haley was arrested on Friday, February 19, 2021, and was released by the court on his own recognizance the next day, Saturday, February 20, 2021.
On March 9, 2021, the Office of the District Attorney charged Haley with three counts of lewd act upon a child, two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object under age 18, and one count of sexual penetration by a foreign object under age 16. All counts are felonies.
According to current sentencing laws, Haley faces a maximum sentence of 5 years, 8 months and lifetime sex offender registration if convicted on all charges.
Haley remains out of custody. A pre-trial setting is scheduled for May 4, 2021, in Department 4.
