Rural Crime School
The Rural Crime School is an annual course hosted by the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office for those who want to develop an expertise in the area of rural crime. Join us this year from September 25-29, 2023.
VALUABLE SKILLS
Learn the skills necessary for effective rural crime prevention, reporting, interdiction, and investigation from leading experts from across the state.
HANDS-ON LEARNING
Students will visit multiple locations and work in close proximity to livestock and heavy farm and construction equipment to gain a real-world learning experience

NETWORK BUILDING
Connect with students and instructors and gain a valuable network of rural crime experts from different counties.
Topics
The course includes instruction on basic livestock theft investigation, breed and brand recognition, individual case studies, rural crimnial law, trespass law, the bureau of livestock identification’s role and responsibilities, livestock road enforcement, agricultural commodity theft, investigation and inspection, heavy equipment theft, afrivultural fraud, equipment OAN and PIN number identification, metal theft, animal fighting and agricultural chemical theft.
