Murder Charges Filed in Tulare Deaths
District Attorney Tim Ward has announced special circumstance murder charges against Fabian Gamez, age 30, for the stabbing deaths of two adult Tulare residents during an early morning burglary on October 24, 2024.
Gamez is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one felony count of first-degree residential burglary. The charges are enhanced with special circumstances and allegations including that the crime consisted of multiple murders, the murders were committed during a burglary, a deadly weapon was used, great bodily injury was inflicted, the victims were vulnerable, the conduct was violent, and that the crime took planning and sophistication.
Gamez pleaded not guilty at today’s arraignment. A preliminary hearing conference is scheduled for November 8, 2024, in Department 18 of the Tulare County Superior Court. According to current California sentencing laws, the charged crimes carry a maximum sentence of death or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
