Multi-Agency “Operation Boo” Nets Seven Arrests
Last night TCDA Bureau of Investigations criminal investigators joined with California Parole agents, the Porterville Police Department, the Hanford Police Department, and Kings County Probation for “Operation Boo,” a longstanding Halloween night PC290 sex offender detail to ensure compliance with registrant’s terms of parole.
Conducted in Tulare and Kings counties, a total of 36 searches were made of residences and electronic devices leading to the arrest of seven adult males. The arrests were made for violating terms of parole such as possession of pornography and use of social media. Penalties for violating the terms of parole can result in a return to prison.
“I’m grateful for the teamwork shown in this effort to keep our communities safe. We are fortunate to have these law enforcement partnerships,” said District Attorney Tim Ward. “Our commitment to public safety extends far beyond the conviction in the courtroom.”
