Guilty Verdict for 2021 Crash That Killed Visalia Man
On March 3, 2026, in Department 4 of the Tulare County Superior Court, TCDA prosecutors secured a guilty verdict against Ping See, age 40, for gross vehicular manslaughter.
At approximately 2:30 am on April 21, 2021, See drove her Honda SUV at speeds estimated at 80 miles per hour westbound on Walnut Avenue in Visalia. See ran a red light at the intersection of Mooney Boulevard where she collided with a pickup truck. The truck ignited and witnesses rushed to the scene to render aid, including bringing water to douse the flames. The victim, an adult male, succumbed to his injuries sustained in the crash.
In an interview with law enforcement, See stated that she was upset with her husband as a reason for her reckless driving. Alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the crash.
At trial, a jury found See guilty of felony gross vehicular manslaughter with negligence. Sentencing is scheduled for March 24, 2026, in Superior Court. According to current California sentencing laws regarding manslaughter, See faces up to 6 years in prison. Prosecutors will argue for the maximum term allowed by law.
The case was prosecuted by deputy district attorney Douglas Dobbins and was investigated by the Visalia Police Department.
