Visalia Man Sentenced to Prison for Crimes against a Child

Today in Department 6 of the Tulare County Superior Court, Visalia Division, the court sentenced Armando Montero, age 34, to 58 years and 8 months in prison for child molestation.

On December 4, 2025, Montero pleaded no contest to 11 counts of child molestation and two counts of possession of child pornography. Eleven counts are considered strikes under California’s Three Strikes law. Montero admitted that the crimes were serious in nature, and that the crimes amounted to substantial sexual conduct. The crimes were committed between 2016 and 2024 against a single female victim under the age of 14 in the city of Visalia.

Montero possesses a prior 2009 strike conviction for robbery. In addition to his sentence, Montero must register as a sex offender for life.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Chelsea Wayt and was investigated by the Visalia Police Department.
