District Attorney Promotes Two in Bureau of Investigations

District Attorney Tim Ward is pleased to announce the promotions of Gregg White to the position of Assistant Chief Investigator and Paul Esquibel to Supervising Criminal Investigator in the office’s Bureau of Investigations.

Gregg White is a former Marine who started his career in law enforcement with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office in 1996. He worked a variety of assignments with TCSO and was a detective working crimes against children’s cases when he joined the Office of the District Attorney in 2006. As an investigator he was assigned a variety of cases; however, he continued to hone his expertise in the cases of child victims. Assistant Chief White has been a supervisor for eight years and has overseen a variety of units and investigations. Assistant Chief White is a graduate of both the Sherman Block Leadership Institute and Los Angeles Police Department Leadership Academy.

As a Marine veteran, veteran affairs remain of paramount importance to him. Assistant Chief White has served on the Board of Directors for the Central Valley Recovery Services for four years. White fills the position left by Assistant Chief Gilbert Cardenas who retired earlier this year.

Paul Esquibel has been with the Office of the District Attorney for two years working with trial preparation and the District Attorney’s cold case unit. Supervisor Esquibel previously worked at the Visalia Police Department and the Kingsburg Police Department. While at VPD he worked as a patrol officer, a violent crimes detective, and a sergeant in charge of their narcotics unit. He is a graduate of the Sherman Block Leadership Institute and the Los Angeles Police Department Leadership Academy. Supervisor Esquibel has received several notable honors, including the combat wounded medal and officer of the year.

“Both men have the requisite experience to excel in their new roles; however, what is exciting is their experience is matched by their commitment to innovation,” said District Attorney Chief Investigator Lindy Gligorijevic.

White and Esquibel have a combined 60 years of law enforcement expertise.
