Tulare Man Convicted of 17 Counts of Child Molestation
In a court trial yesterday in Department 6 of the Tulare County Superior Court, Visalia Division, Judge Melinda Reed found Enrique Cisneros Martinez, age 42, guilty of 17 counts of lewd act upon a child under the age of fourteen and one count of contacting a minor for a sexual offense. At the conclusion of the court trial, Judge Reed also found true the special allegation of substantial sexual conduct. Each count is a felony and 17 of the counts are strike offenses.
The crimes occurred between September 1, 2018, and December 1, 2018, against a single female victim, who was thirteen years old at the time of the sexual assaults. The crimes occurred in the city of Tulare. Sentencing is set for October 28, 2020, in Superior Court where Martinez faces 41 years in state prison. Martinez will also be required to register as a sex offender.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Chelsea Wayt of the Crimes against Children Division and was investigated by Corporal Matt Muller and Corporal Jose Esparza of the Tulare Police Department.
