Tulare Man Sentenced to State Prison for Child Molestation

On July 10, 2019, in Department 6 of the Tulare County Superior Court, Visalia Division, Judge Gary Paden sentenced Mauro Gallo, age 44, of Tulare, to 32 years in prison for child molestation. In addition to his sentence, Gallo must register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.

On April 30, 2019, Gallo pleaded no contest to sixteen counts of lewd act upon a child under the age of fourteen against a female victim who was between the ages of eleven and fourteen at the time of the acts. Gallo also pleaded no contest to one count of felony child abuse against a separate male victim who was between the ages of seven and twelve at the time of the act. Gallo also admitted special allegations that the lewd acts involved substantial sexual conduct. Each count is a felony and the sixteen lewd acts are considered strike offenses. Gallo pleaded to all charges filed against him.

 The crimes occurred between January 5, 2012, and March 4, 2017.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Chelsea Wayt of the Crimes against Children Division and investigated by Detective Christopher Marvin of the Tulare Police Department.
