Goshen Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for First-Degree Murder
Yesterday in Department 5 of the Tulare County Superior Court, Visalia Division, Judge Juliet Boccone sentenced Allen Horsley, age 26, to 50 years-to-life in prison for killing a man at a Goshen RV park. On February 11, 2019, a jury found Horsley guilty of premeditated first-degree murder with the special allegation of using a firearm, and assault with a deadly weapon (gun).
Just before 1 am on November 3, 2016, Tulare County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting at the Wooden Shoe RV Park in Goshen where they found a male victim unresponsive from a gunshot wound to the head. Through investigation, deputies learned that Horsley and the victim had been in an argument after returning from a nearby mini-mart with friends. Horsley produced a handgun and held it to the victim’s temple. After swatting it away, the victim began to leave but Horsley again aimed at the victim’s head and fired a single shot. Horsley fled and was taken into custody later that afternoon.
Victoria Corbitt, age 18, assisted Horsley’s leaving the crime scene. She pleaded no contest to being an accessory after the fact and that the crime was committed while out on bail for check fraud. She was sentenced to 4 years and 8 months in state prison in for both cases in March of 2017.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorney Candice Moore of the Major Crimes Division and investigated by Sergeant Daniel McBride of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.
