District Attorney Welcomes New Supervising Prosecutor
Tulare County District Attorney Tim Ward is pleased to welcome Scott Spielman as theoffice’s newest supervising deputy district attorney.
A graduate of California State University, Fresno (BS, Criminology, 1990) and the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law (Juris Doctor, 1993), Spielman beganhis career as a deputy district attorney for the Kern County District Attorney’s Office in 1994 after clerking for the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office. During his time inKern, he prosecuted criminal cases in the homicide, sexual assault, rural crime, juvenile, felony, and misdemeanor divisions. Spielman was promoted to several management positions within the office to oversee personnel and budget matters, as well as attorney caseloads. He is a United States Army Military Police veteran and served from 1984 to 1987 in both the United States and Europe.
“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Scott over the past several years and am convincedthat he will be a tremendous asset to Tulare County,” said District Attorney Tim Ward. “We as an office are lucky to have him on our side.”
Spielman will begin his tenure supervising the general prosecutions team in the office’sPorterville Division.
