Porterville Child Abuser Sentenced to Life in Prison
Today in Department 6 of the Tulare County Superior Court, Visalia Division, the court sentenced Luis Gutierrez, age 26, to life in prison for child molestation.
On December 11, 2023, Gutierrez pleaded no contest to three counts of felony child molestation with the special allegations that there was substantial sexual contact and that there were multiple victims. The crimes were committed in the Porterville area between 2015 and 2019 against two minor females and one minor male.
In addition to his sentence, Gutierrez must register as a sex offender for life. Under current California sentencing laws, Gutierrez must serve 25 years in prison before being considered for parole.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Chelsea Wayt.
